A compressing method for computer files. Commonly used for compressing files before downloading over the Internet. Zip files contain vast amounts of information that has undergone compression to reduce the amount of space that the data take up. Zip files can be compressed (zipped) and decompressed (unzipped) using a computer program like WINZIP. |
